Basic Education and Employable Skill Training (BEST)

BEST (Basic Education and Employable Skill Training) is a registered, non-political, non-governmental and non-profit development organization. BEST is an Implementing Partner of UNDP/ANBP on the Vocational Training and Small Business project for former combatants. BEST also works with GTZ on Catch-Up Education for Returnees' Children and with Counterpart International on the USAID-funded Initiative to Promote Afghan Civil Society.

BEST VISION

Creation of a peaceful and developed Afghan civil society where developed human resources and economic opportunities are available in an enabling environment.

Provide capacity building, basic education, employable skill training and micro enterprise development training leading to skill-development, income generation and employment opportunities in a sustainable way.

BEST's OBJECTIVES

1. To provide the means for people (male and female) to obtain basic education (formal and informal);

2. To provide the means for people (male and female) to acquire vocational, technical, or other skills;

3. To support and assist people who wish to start a business, trade or other commercial activity;

4. To engage in any other development or capacity building activities which are conducive to uplifting the poorest, neglected and marginalized sectors of society; and

5. To promote civil society through awareness raising, capacity building and social mobilization.
