Educational and Training Center for Poor Women and Girls of Afghanistan(ECW)

ECW is a non-political , non- profitable, non-governmental and local humanitarian aid organization, has been working with poor women and girls since its establishment (1997) in Kabul city.

ECW Goal: to support and help Afghan poor women, girls and children, who are in need of supporting economically, socially and culturally.

Objectives:

  1. To establish literacy classes for widows, poor women and girls, over school age to continue education.
  2. To provide handicraft trainings for those women and girls who want to learn making handicrafts, keep producing historical handicrafts of Afghanistan and support their family economically through selling their productions.
  3. To create awareness programs for women and girls to enhance their understanding and make them ready to participate in cultural activities and use it in their cultural and social lives.
  4. To facilitate establishment of children's enters and committees especially the orphans' and street working children's to develop different programs for them to enjoy their childhood, provide different professional trainings for the older ones to be self sufficient and support their families in the future .

Since 1997, ECW has been active in implementing different Projects such as follows:

.  Providing Vocational Trainings for Afghan Women & Girls

.  Production of Handicrafts by Afghan Women

.  Protection of Child Rights and Women's Rights.

.  Civic Education ( constitution and Election Awareness)

.  Providing Education for Women and Girls

.  Health Education Programs for Women

.  Emergency Help for poor Women

.  Peace Building Program

.  Awareness on Drag Abuse about its negative consequences on Health , economic , family and social relations.
